Does my Enthusiast Policy cover me for Commercial work?

Your Enthusiast policy is restricted to Recreational Uses only. Any Commercial work undertaken would not be covered.

I have a Drone or a Payload or a piece of Ground Equipment worth more than £25,000. Can I get cover from the FlyIcarus.com website?

At present, we are only able to accept single items of equipment up to a value of £25,000.

Is there a minimum age requirement to be able to purchase a FLYICARUS Drone Insurance Policy?

Yes. We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years. This requirement applies to the policyholder and all pilots identified in the schedule of pilots.

Does my Policy contain an Excess or Deductible?

Yes.
The policy deductible for loss or theft of, or physical damage to, your drone/payload/ground equipment is 10% of the agreed value of the damaged item, subject to a minimum of £50 each and every claim.
The policy deductible for all liability coverage claims is £500 each and every claim.

Does my Policy cover me when I take my Drone and Equipment outside of the country in which I live?

For our Enthusiast Customers, at present we are only able to offer you protection whilst operating your drone in the United Kingdom.

Is my Drone, Payload and Ground Equipment covered when I transport it by land, sea or air?

At present, we are only able to offer this coverage to our Commercial Customers.

Does my Policy include Legal Fees and Defence Costs in the event I have a Claim?

All Legal Fees and Expenses are payable in addition to your policy limit. Should the totality of the indemnity claim exceed your policy limit, then the Legal Fees and Expenses are payable pro-rata in addition to the policy limit.

Am I able to add another Drone and/or Payload and/or Ground Equipment to my existing Policy?

You may add further equipment at any time during the course of your policy. Please e-mail us details at support@flyicarus.com and we will be happy to assist you with your needs.

Is it possible to increase my Third-Party Liability limit midway through my existing Policy?

Absolutely it is. We currently offer a Basic Third-Party Liability limit of £50,000. You can increase this to £100,000 or £250,000 at any time. Please e-mail us details at support@flyicarus.com and we will be happy to assist you with your needs.

Am I able to enhance my coverage after inception of my Policy?

At present, we are only able to enhance coverage for our Commercial Customers.

Can I fly my Drone anywhere?

There are strict Guidelines that have been set out by the Civil Aviation Authority regarding the safe operation of drones in the UK. The Guidelines can be found on the CAA website using the following link: - http://www.caa.co.uk/Consumers/Model-aircraft-and-drones/Flying-drones/ Please be aware that it is your responsibility to make sure when operating your drone that you are fully compliant with the CAA's requirements. These requirements are subject to change at any time, so we strongly recommend that you check them out frequently.

What should I do if I have an accident when flying my Drone?

If anyone has been Injured or any Third-Party Property has been damaged, please try and obtain the Name, Telephone Number and E-mail address of any witness to the incident. This is important as they may well be able to assist in the handling of your claim. Under no circumstances should you make any admission of liability or payment or offer or promise of payment without our written consent. How do I reset my Dashboard user password?

Go to our website www.flyicarus.com and Login in to the Dashboard using your email address as the login ID. Beneath the Password field is "Forgotten your Password". Select this and follow the instructions. A temporary Password will be emailed to you shortly thereafter.

Can I enhance my Enthusiast Policy with additional coverages?

What should I do if my Drone is stolen?

In the first instance, please notify the Police and provide them with the make and model and serial number of the item that has been stolen. Please make sure you obtain a copy of the Police Report and note the Case Number. Thereafter, please go to our website www.flyicarus.com and Login in to the Dashboard using your e-mail address as the login ID and your previously chosen password. Select "Make a Claim" and follow the instructions on how to complete the Claims Notification Form. Can I add more Pilots to my existing Policy?

I understand I must abide by the Drone Regulations as decreed by the CAA, but what if I take my Drone to another country, are the Regulations the same?

At present, we are only able to offer coverage outside of the United Kingdom to our Commercial Customers.

Does my Commercial Policy cover me for recreational flying?

Your Commercial policy is restricted to Commercial Uses only. Any Recreational use would not be covered.

Yes, of course. On a strict referral basis, your insurer will consider requests for higher valued items of equipment. Please e-mail us at support@flyicarus.com providing details of the item in question, your pilot(s) experience, the nature of the contract(s) you propose to undertake and details of any claims that the named pilots in your policy schedule have suffered in the past 5 years of drone operations. We will present this information to your insurer and get back to you soonest.

Our Commercial Customers are protected with in the United Kingdom automatically. Should you wish to operate your drone outside of the United Kingdom, you will need to purchase our Worldwide Cover endorsement.

Our In-Transit Endorsement provides cover for transportation of your drone and equipment by any means. You can purchase this coverage at the inception of your policy or any time thereafter.

Yes, of course. On a strict referral basis, your insurer will consider requests for higher third-party liability limits, either for a one-off contract or on an annual basis. Please e-mail support@flyicarus.com providing details of how long you require the increased limit for, your pilot(s) experience, the nature of the contract(s) that you propose to undertake and details of any claims that the named pilots in your policy schedule have suffered in the past 5 years of drone operations. We will present this information to your insurer and get back to you soonest.
